Sunday Succulent: Astrophytum capricorne
Astrophytum capricorne
Today's Sunday Succulent is Astrophytum capricorne, not Astrophytum ornatum, which it can be mistaken for. My husband (the cactus and succulent expert) describes it as:The skin of the cactus is patterned with fine, white tubercles which give it a rich texture, like exotic animal skin. The spines are long and curved. The flowers on this individual are lemon-yellow with a red throat.

Eye Candy: Armon Adibi

Armon Adibi is a natural bodybuilder from Dallas, Texas. I first noticed him at Dark Flex. On his Model Mayhem page, he lists himself at 5'10", 240 pounds and was born November 2, 1983. He is a bit bigger than most of the models we feature here, but he is definitely still Eye Candy.
Eye Candy: Christopher Villa

Christopher Villa is a 26-year-old model from Brooklyn, New York. I found him myself but he's also available on Facebook. With friends like these who needs benefits? If you want to see more of Mr. Villa, check out this short film, directed by renowned photographer Carlos Arias. The shots shown here were taken by Rick Day.
Eye Candy: Stanley Wittemberg

Hat tip to self-described modelizer Rod 2.0 for highlighting the hotness that is model Stanley Wittemberg. Nice, eh?
LOOK: A 3-D Depiction of the Mandelbrot Set
Thanks to io9, I was alerted to this interesting 3-D visualization of the famous Mandelbrot set. The Mandelbrot set is a very famous example of a fractal, which is an object which is self-similar under magnification. It is usually depicted in two-dimensions, since it is generally generated using complex variables. There are many more stunning images available.
Eye Candy: Robert Gonzalez

More stunning work from the lens of John Gress. Last week, we brought you his stunning images of beautiful dark-skinned model Adem Aluka and this week we are bringing you the powerfully muscular physique and masculine (but cuddly) look of Robert Gonzalez. Check out more of his work at www.johngress.com.

Featured Flora: Pink Beauty
This small, dome-shaped cactus has flattened, spidery spines; no threat to anyone! This variety has pink flowers rather than the usual white. The Other Half purchased this one at Huntington Gardens Desert Collection by appointment.

Eye Candy: Inked
It's surprisingly difficult to find high-quality puictures of models of color on the web. One source I was directed to was: http://bbwphoto.blogspot.com where I found the amazing shot above. Lucky us!
Eye Candy: Philip Fusco

Yay! After a brief hiatus, Japhy at Queerty.com is back and posting up pictures of scantily clad pulchritudinous youngsters. Here are a few shots of Philip Fusco, check out Queerty for more pictures of him (wearing even less!)

Sports, anyone? Queerty has been upping it a notch with their latest Morning Goods who are people of color. First, they had two black models--Synjin and Chris Sledge--on December 31 (more than they had the entire last half of the year) and so far in 2009 they have had multiple Latino models.
Enjoy these shots of Alex Valdez and then head over to Queerty for even more delectable images of him.

Time magazine has named Barack Obama their Person of the Year 2008. In their lengthy article on the soon-to-be 44th President of the United States, they also include pictures from a 1980 photo shoot of "Barry Obama" as a freshman at Occidental College in Los Angeles (where MadProfessah teaches now) taken by photographer Lisa Jack for her colege photography portfolio.
