Howard Hears a Woo-Hoo!

Howard Dean's last challenger for the

Chairmanship of the Democratic

National Committee, ex-congressman

Tim Roemer dropped out of the race, l

eaving Dean as the next de facto head

of the DNC. The battle was an interesting

proxy war for the battle over where the

Democrats will go forward from their

electoral defeat in November. Unlike

other critics, I think Dean's imminent

take-over of the party apparatus is a

good thing for the Democrats and the country.
